All resident activities will be tracked by computers using a computerized data management system called the Computerized Resident Management System. The Computerized Resident Management System helps manage the vast array of information gathering and distribution needs at RI. It eliminates data redundancy and truly harnesses the power of a distributed computing environment by virtue of its three-tier design. It offers unparalleled flexibility, customization and simplicity, user friendliness and acceptance. It was developed in-house and tested over a five-year period at RI.
The Computerized Resident Management System is a patent-pending and copyrighted product that has allowed RI to automate its entire data-gathering and distribution process, allowing case managers, counselors, therapists, support service staff and supervisors to track clients through intake, assessment, testing, counseling, education, training, community service and work release. The ability to produce detailed statistical and summary reports is invaluable in planning for future growth, designing new programs for clients, deployment of staff personnel and analysis of outcome measures of various treatment modalities – all contributing to the attainment of RI’s mission of returning individuals to society as responsible citizens.
